Prayers for our Sweet P

Sweet P is unique in so many ways!

She was born with a form of CHD, a Congenital Heart Defect. Did you know 1 in 100 children are born with CHD? Our girl is 1 in 100! We 100% knew this when we accepted her into our family, but it’s not something we’ve wanted to share until we had her home from China and looked at. We’ve known that heart surgery was imminent, but her file was very limited and we never even saw pictures of her heart until she was home.

Her doctor’s at Vanderbilt have been great and they were very pleased with how her heart looked. Without going into much detail, they said that everything can be corrected during surgery. This is an answer to prayer!!! I can’t express to you how much of a relief this is! Bringing her home and having no idea what her heart looked like was scary.

So why are we sharing this? We need prayer warriors for our little heart warrior! Her surgery is scheduled for this Wednesday! A few ways that you can specifically pray are for the staff, nurses, and doctors. That she understands a little of what will be happening and isn’t totally blindsided. And of course for her, her heart, and a quick recovery!

Can you imagine? Traveling to China, adjusting to life with a toddler who is also grieving, then your baby having heart surgery all within a matter of 4 months? We’re weary y’all and I cry often… I’m not gonna lie. Surprisingly, I have such a God-given peace about the surgery itself. We’ve been preparing and praying for this since the day we received her health information from our adoption agency.

This is all so hard and difficult, but guess what??!

God is the author of my daughter’s life. He is the great healer, the prince of peace, our shield, our protector, our strength, light, and JOY. He is our refuge, rockhope, fortress, and strong tower. He is love. How anyone could go through something like this without Him is difficult to understand. I hope you know Him. If you don’t, reach out to me and I will be happy to tell you more about my Jesus. His love is free, and his grace and mercy are everlasting.

Please say a special prayer for Sweet P this Wednesday, October 28th, the day of her surgery. We will be sure to keep everyone updated. We love you all!

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3

Melody Anderson - I am going to share this and ask my prayer warriors to pray. As I faced a huge mountain this month, I had one of the prayer warriors praying with me over then phone and the one statement that continues to come back to me is ” God, You created her body, You already knew we would face this today, and You are already working and healing” I do pray for peace and for everyone involved, the surgery, and quick and complete healing. I know God healed me through a miracle, and I know He has His hands on Sweet P’s heart and yours as well.ReplyCancel

Vicky Long - Kristen, you don’t know me but I live in Harriman and have two children (Emma and Sam) adopted from China. We adopted Samuel when he was 2 years old and knew he had CHD and a genetic disorder called 22q11.2 . He was so sick we didn’t know if he would survive the trip home. His heart was so bad he was literally blue from lack of oxygen. We had to go to the Mayo in Rochester MN for his surgery as there weren’t many surgeons in the country who could handle his complicated repair. We have since also been to Vanderbilt for testing and heart caths. I am telling you all this so that you will know there IS someone near by that knows EXACTLY what you are going thru and I would be happy to be of any support that I can. Please feel free to contact me. I left my email and you also know my daughter Stacie Bradshaw. God is good and he will be with you and her during this trial.ReplyCancel

Billie Jo Ralston - Prayers for Sweet P, her parents, her grandparents, and all those who loves this family – prayers for God’s healing touch, His comfort and strength, and for His will to be done. Our God is still in the miracle business, and He is still on the throne. I know He is hearing all the prayers for this precious little angel and her family. May He guide the hands and thoughts of all the medical teams, and may He guide the thoughts and prayers of the Peddicords.ReplyCancel

Bobbye Carol Click - It will be an honor to pray for your Sweet P and your family. She is beautiful ! A little over 15 years ago my grandson had open heart surgery at Vandy, he was only 13 days old. Dr. Christenson (spelling ?) did his surgery. He is an amazing young man and a blessing to us all ! And continues to have wonderful heart check-ups ! The most important is The Great Physician and then we have much confidence in those doctors and the awesome facility at Vandy ! God bless and be with you all !!!

I woke with these verses on my heart this morning.

I will love thee, O LORD, my strength.
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
